About Me!

By day, I design theme parks and museums (yes, theme parks). On the weekend, you’ll usually find me digging through an old barn, estate sale, or antique shop looking for something with … lets call it “patina”.

I’m a theme park designer and art director by profession, with a background in architecture and more than fifteen years spent creating immersive places and experiences. My work uses architecture, objects, graphics, color, history, and all the little details people may not consciously notice to tell stories.

Homeport Adventures grew out of that same way of looking at the world.

I’ve always been fascinated by objects that give a room character: an old painting, a weathered piece of furniture, a stack of books, a ship model, a strange little artifact whose original purpose isn't immediately obvious. I love thinking about where these things have been, but I love even more imagining where they might go next.

To me, decorating with antiques isn't about creating a perfect period room. It's about creating a place that feels collected, layered, personal, and a little unexpected. Much like designing an immersive environment, it's the combination of individual details that creates the story.

A Love of Place

Homeport Adventures is also deeply connected to where I grew up: Old Saybrook and the Connecticut shoreline.

After spending ten years living and working in Los Angeles, I moved back home with a much greater appreciation for the things that make a small town special.  I missed the old houses, independent shops, local characters, familiar traditions, historic buildings, and the feeling that a place has developed slowly over generations.

Those things are easy to take for granted. They're also easy to lose.

Working in experience design has made me particularly aware of this power of place. The places we remember most aren't necessarily the newest or most polished. They're the ones with personality. They're distinctive. They have stories embedded in them.

That's what I love about old towns, and it's what I love about old things.

Homeport Adventures is my small way of celebrating both.

Through the antiques I collect, the stories I uncover, and the events and experiences I create, I hope to preserve a little of the character that makes this corner of the world so special—and encourage other people to see old things not simply as remnants of the past, but as pieces of a story that can keep going.

Because the best places should feel like they have stories to tell.
